STILL - LIFE DRAWING CLASS

Drawing is the foundation for all academic and professional success in most areas of art, design and architecture. Still life is the best way to start the drawing experience because it is much simpler in form than the human body. The main objective of this class is the development of visual literacy and learning the fundamentals of drawing. Using study of still life as a visual laboratory, through live demonstrations and one-on-one critiques, this class examines the principles of scale, composition, proportion, form, perspective and value. This class will consist of four 3-hour still-life drawings, followed by 6-hour and 12-hour drawings.

STILL - LIFE PAINTING CLASS

In the painting still-life course, class demonstrations and discussions will delve into: color, edge development, paint handling, focal points, and how to convey a specific mood, emotion, and meaning in your still life. Students will work in oil using a full color palette. This class will begin with tonal and color studies, giving students ample time to explore the various stages of a finished painting. This class will consist of two 3-hour still-life paintings, followed by 6-hour and 18-hour paintings.
